Introduction
This device supports up to 8 GB of system RAM. This guide is written for the maximum amount of RAM for your device. The RAM that is sold on the market that is compatible with this device comes in either 2 GB or 4 GB per RAM modules. You can’t use both 2 GB and 4GB of RAM together. If you plan to upgrade the RAM on the system, both RAM modules must be the same size.

Battery
- Shut off your device and disconnect the power cord. Disconnect any external devices connected to the device.
- Place your finger on the battery lock slider, press toward the center of the laptop to unlock the battery.
- The lock will make a click sound letting you know that the battery is unlocked.

Step 2
- Use your thumb to pry up the edge of the battery and lift it out of the device.
- When replacing the battery, align the notch on the battery with the battery lock on the device. Gently press down on the battery until you hear the lock click, which signals that the battery is secure.

Service Door
- Using a Phillips #0 screwdriver, loosen the service door screw.
- This is a captive screw that will remain attached to the service door.

- Lift the service door up and away from the device.

RAM
- Locate the RAM modules on the device.

- Using your fingers or a pair of spudgers, push outward on the retention clips that hold the RAM modules in place.
- There are two stacked RAM module slots. Each slot has its own pair of retention clips.

Step 7
- The RAM module will spring up at a 45-degree angle.
- Remove the RAM module by pulling it out of the slot at the same 45-degree angle.
- Repeat these steps to remove the second RAM module.
- When inserting RAM modules, fill the bottom slot first, even if you are replacing only one module. Insert RAM modules into the slot at the same 45-degree angle. Then press down on the RAM module until the retention clips lock it in place.
