“Your Device/Amplifier is on but the speaker isn’t making any sound.”
Since this is an old speaker they use wire taps to connect to devices. Wire taps can be hard to connect, so make sure your speaker is connected to your device by twisting the tap when putting it on.
It may be that the terminal connectors that connects to speaker driver have disconnected. You can easily check by unscrewing the four screws on the front of the speaker.
If you’re still not receiving sound it is most likely due to the device. You can reboot your device and try again.
‘‘Your Speaker is making a fuzzing sound and the volume is low."
If your speaker is making a fuzzing or hissing sound it is due to woofer damage, you can fix your woofer using the guide How to JBL L40.
Another reason the volume of your speaker has reduced can be because your box has a crack, so check around the box fill in the cracks.
If your speaker is not as loud as it use to be it may be due to the tweeter being worn out. you can replace your tweeter using the guide KLH Speaker Tweeter and Driver Replacement.
